So the next update in the #garden saga was the putting together effort for the new metal pergola followed by planting 24 trees. Turns out that both require quite a lot of energy. Still. Did it. And now just have to water and feed them all for a few years before we will know if they are going to fruit. Excellent!

Was actually a lot of fun: gentle sun (didn’t anticipate it so, being a bit of a ginger, got a bit burnt) and then planted up tomatoes and chilli’s in trays. Spring is coming…
A metal garden frame with 1 year maiden fruit trees planted into round holes, covered with woodchip, between the frame’s uprights. A stand of Echiums is growing through the left hand side.
There were a couple of gaps so I’ve planted out two citrus which were a bit pot bound in the greenhouse and had an emerging bout of scale insects. One hasn’t fruited yet but I think is a lemon. The smaller one did fruit this year, but turned out not to be the line it was sold as but was in fact an orange of some kind. Really lovely fruit: hope it can handle being outside. We shall see…
that looks great!
well I think it looks like a winter mess for now but it has potential 😀😀😀

Mate came round and - cheeky git - asked I was hiring it for weddings.
not such a daft idea 😂
when you see how much wedding places charge… maybe!
This looks lovely 😃
Well I think it looks like a winter mess right now - but it has potential 😀

When the trees blossom over the next few years it will be lovely I hope...
Oh, I hear ya! My garden is a sad sight right now! Can’t wait for everything to wake up and come alive 🌱
I'm working away or I'd be posting pictures of the pots and borders waking up with daffs and tulips. We planted over 600 bulbs this year - including anemones - and I am hoping they will look fabulous!

It's so nearly there!

That’s a great number! I think I did ~75. We are still in the bleak cold here and everything is slumbering. Your yard is going to be a masterpiece when they wake up to greet the sun 😌
I’m a sucker for a seed/bulb catalogue! I contacted one of the companies I use in the Netherlands to ask if they could reduce their marketing to monthly (from daily)…but no: all or nothing.
