Home alone for the weekend so the garden is getting the treatment… pruning, planting (trees, bulbs), tying in, and mulching.

You think it’s a good idea to buy 600 bulbs when they’re reduced in the early sales. Less amusing when you have to get the buggers in the ground.

Grey day but the mild weather leaves much still blooming which is ace.

My life fundamentally changed when I got a bulb auger attachment for my drill.

Kind of.

(In truth, although getting the bulbs in the ground was easier, having chickens again after a lay-off meant that none of the alliums made it past thumb-height this year, and the snowdrops were largely theoretical.)
that’s a funny thought! I’ve got about 1/3 Anemones (which can go in with a big garden fork), 1/3 daffs, which need proper thought, and likewise 1/3 tulips. A lot of daffs and tulips will go into pots though which is less back breaking. Still - should look nice in 5 months or so…
