It seems like Trump is ready to sabotage US farmers, telling them in a Truth Social post that he will put “tariffs on external product” (presumably meaning the goods that farmers export to other countries, since he told them right before that to “get ready to start making a lot of agricultural product to be sold inside of the United States”).

I have so many questions:

1) What on earth is a “tariff on external product”? Tariffs are typically levied on imports & reciprocal tariffs mean the levying of the same amount on an import as that country levies on your country’s export (their import).

2) Does he expect to create demand out of thin air?

3) Will he end up subsidizing US farmers like he did his first term?

4) What monster would create economic chaos & then tell people affected to “Have Fun!” 🤔

But in this case— it looks like #Trump is literally going to tax exports (essentially)— with export tariffs (like ad valorem taxes).

It’s so twisted— I mean, it’s literally punishing farmers.
