Pointing out the obvious: The Israelis have been trying to get rid of the Palestinians for a century, more-or-less. They have not succeeded beyond murdering a bunch of them. Now Mr. Trump is pretty sure that he can "own" Gaza.

Is the problem there in some way hidden, such that Mr. Trump cannot see it? Is he reading scripts that were written by others who cannot see it? Is he merely throwing a monkey wrench at a school of sharks to see if they will try to eat it, like a kind of joke? Has Jesus spoken to him directly? Has God whispered in his ear? Is he planning to get a mortgage on Gaza in order to pay other debts? Is it him and his friends, or is it his friends and him?

We are looking for the motive vectors at a feeding frenzy. Remember how Putin watched the oligarchs take apart the Soviet Union, then he took apart the oligarchs? Are we dealing with envy here?

The bigger they are, the harder they fall. The Soviet Union was pretty big. The U.S. is bigger. Imagine our parts, the tissues and organs of our society, hanging like halves of beef in the locker. Imagine the oligarchs looking our parts over and deciding, amongst themselves, who will get what.
