I would love to attend the #PresidentsDayProtest in #AugustaMaine (assuming there is one going on), or stage a #ProtestOfOne in #PortlandMaine, but the weather in #Maine is not looking good. I will be bugging our #Congress members and will amplify what's going on everywhere else!

Meanwhile, here are some things you can do to support the #50501Movement...

And yeah, I don't mind being out in the cold, but I'm beat after shoveling and roof-raking today. (And I don't like driving in bad weather.)
And now that I know where to post events, I might try and pull a permit in #PortlandMaine for whatever is going on in March (I'm assuming we're going to keep this up until either things change, or we get rounded up).

Well, yikes! The fees for having a city-permitted event have gone way up from when I last did one. I think that for now, I'll just show up at Monument Square on certain dates and see if anyone joins me. At some point, if the Maine DSA or another organization wants to do something bigger, I'll help contribute to the fee, but only working part-time, I don't have that kind of cash handy.
The First Amendment is supposed to be the only permit you need.

Trouble is, ALL LAW may be null and void under Trump. "Rule of Law" means the government publishes when it will and will not use its armed police, and then keeps to those rules of engagement.

Of course, the authors of the First Amendment wrote another one as the backup for this, and put it right underneath the First. I've been at such protests, notably the counterprotest against KKK and similar Southern Nationalists at Stone Mountain, Ga on April 30 2022. Cops went out of their way to avoid conflicts!
