Wow! First #startrek criticism from a liberal.

I just mentioned I was watching The Next Generation again.

"StarTrek hasn't aged well and people who give a fuck about other people know this."

But... history hasn't aged well. We don't erase it (except the CIA). We can't go on a hunt to remove "deviant" art.

Just be mindful of how whenever a character starts acting strangely - in an environment where alien possession is a known reality - the crew all shrug and say 'OK. Whatevs!' and continue as normal.

My favorite bit was when after Dr. Crusher accidentally creates a virus that turns everyone into animals, and that situation is resolved, Lt. Barclay makes an appointment with Counselor Troi, and she rolls her eyes.

Because of course it's hilarious that after nightmarish trauma, anyone would ask a counselor for help processing trauma.
