When computers exchange data over the internet, it is in the form of TCP/IP packets. Each is a stream of 1s & 0s with a header. The header contains info like source, destination, sequence number, and control flags. Thereby different hardware and OSs may communicate. This means that from a computer's perspective, external reality is inherently quantized. What appears to be the structure of the outside world is merely a communication protocol of a greater world.
