'Governor Wes Moore has announced a new website aimed at providing resources to federal workers in Maryland impacted by recent federal layoffs, firings, and funding shifts.
The announcement of the new site comes just after the federal Office of Personnel Management directed agencies to dismiss probationary employees across the country, Moore’s office said. '

Contractors in the strict sense of on site workers, not cancelled purchases, grants, and the like.
In other words, is he firing the core workforce while keeping ancillaries, or what ratios are we looking at?

Side note: Please don’t believe a company when it cites “low performers” when it’s laying off hundreds or thousands of people. These companies start with a target head count, then work backward to figure out who to lay off. When a department gets notice about their new head count target, they *have* to lay off some number of people, many of whom are *not* poor performers. Citing “low performance” is a way to shift responsibility from poor management (or often, simple greed) to the workers, who are often victims.

For the third time in twelve months, I’ve been laid off with no warning. This, ironically, comes right after a post where I expressed my optimisim for the coming year, despite the absolutely insane state of the world.Words From a Dev
