Not because I thought they would do anything but so it goes into their statistics and shows how little the government does.
All the elderly who get caught by scams is a crime. All the banks who try to make out it was their fault, example to follow of where it wasn’t, should be a crime.
My mother, who watches her finances diligently, always has always will, discovered that several thousand had been taken out of her bank account.
When she contacted the bank they said she had approved this transaction. The #commbank tried to make out she was old and doddery. She called me. Commbank sends a code which needs to be entered for a transaction to be approved. My mother doesn’t remove messages, secretly…she doesn’t know how to. So i got her to show me, I’m in Brisbane, she is in Perth her #commbank messages and the date this transaction took place. No message.
We worked out how she was going to approach the bank about this. As soon as she showed them what she showed me the money was refunded. This should worry anyone who has a commbank account….im guessing they had a data breach which hasn’t been publicly known.
As a side my foolish father got hit by a scam but he shouldn’t have been touching the accounts so ‘nuf said.
