Quoting Odeh Bisharat on how Trump's actions, framed as combating antisemitism, a tactic to stifle dissent and suppress the liberal academic establishment, is fueling antisemitism:

It's not enough that they will be remembered as having killed more than 50,000 Gazans and destroyed 70% of the Gaza Strip; now history will remember that because of them, higher education institutions in the United States are being destroyed and collapsing, in the name of fighting antisemitism and the demand to politically balance educational content and cancel gender and ethnic diversity programs. Harvard University, one of the most important in the world, is fighting for its existence following sanctions imposed by the administration. 'This is 10 or 100 times more than what McCarthy tried to do,' said Larry Summers, former president of Harvard.

Odeh Bisharat (born 1958) is a Palestinian-Israeli activist, journalist, and author. Originally from the destroyed village of Ma’alul, he's a former student leader, political party secretary-general (#Hadash), and currently an op-ed columnist for Haaretz and Al-Atikhad.
