Hazarding a guess that today will be a good day to go down to the shore and collect seaweed for the garden

I suspect mother nature made a bumper local delivery yesterday

i can't believe i have to ask this, but: we have a landline that we never use, although we have an old phone connected. had to keep the existing bt landline when we had our broadband connected. the landline is dead - presumably because of the vicious winds we've had. we have no broadband. are these things related & who's responsible for restoring the landline? thank you, wise people. #stormDarragh #internet

#ParkRun 78..... I think. With #StormDarragh cancelling many across the UK due to a Red Weather Warning, we appear to be working on the basis we're still running. However my wife has just said dramatically "LOOK IN THE GARDEN" and one of the chairs has blown over, so I'm secretly hoping she calls it. Hope you're all surviving out there. 💨

Every time they warn about winds they specifically mention trampolines and every time people don't listen, don't secure or dismantle them, and put others at risk in doing so.

This post brought to you by a trampoline being dragged along the path at our front door.

A wooden fence in the foreground missing many slats, beyond it a brick wall around another garden, and beyond that a ruined trampoline beside a path. Behind it are several other houses.

Red weather warning for us tonight. Ran round the garden and moved pots inside/weighted down on side of the house.

✅ Candles out and lighter to hand
✅ USB bottle lights charged
✅ Battery powered candles/fairy lights out

To be honest those are all out as part of the Xmas decorations anyway 🎄 - makes storm prep simple this time of year!

Need to fill water bottle for spare drinking water, and remember to boil the kettle for a hot water bottle before the wind really kicks in. #StormDarragh

Proper wet and windy weather apparently coming from this afternoon through to Saturday evening in Northern Ireland. Batten down the hatches, and secure the garden furniture time. #Weather #NorthernIreland #StormDarragh
