It’s the Tuesday and on Friday, 20’th is the spring #equinox and I plan to start a 🧵: a #sarasspringcount25 for my #garden

We still have cold nights with frost every night and thin ice on the lake. Only thing actually flowering are snowdrops. Plus it’s been really windy

Spent yesterday recovering from a fantastic & fun #rEDScan25 - sleeping, unpacking, etc. (sometimes retirement is a blessing, I did not have to go to a job)

Today’s plan is to clean my very dirty car

Thursday March 20:
#springequinox was about 1 hour ago‼️

I’m checking the #weatherreport & tonight is supposed to be the last night of frost for awhile. Already +8°C on the north, shady side of the house

Yesterday was spent sorting delivery of fresh veggies and fruit + translating a text for a Swe net magazine

Today I have curated my website for coming Sunday

Waiting before I go outside to document the state of my garden, making some coffee…

Here follows my inspection tour around the garden … +12°C this afternoon so spring is rapidly approaching.
My patio below is still a mess. It’s time to clean up after the winter, put furniture in order, etc.
And clean the windows on the outside. Plus it’s time to actually plant some seeds, veggies and flowers which means, sorting the mess around the corner

I’ve had one or two occasions when a deer got in as I’ve feed the birds with apples during winter. On my tour around the edges I spray poles, gates and fence with repellent spray and also spread some Revira outside the fence. Next Thursday I get help with watering down nematodes and then will get help to put an additional pole at the lowest part of the fence beside the compost

For now the spray and lots of Revira pellets has to be enough

Everything planted and replanted in late autumn seems to have survived and trees and bushes already have huge buds. I cross my fingers that we don’t get a period of deep frost in April as last year …
With some luck and lots of nematodes there will be loads of apples and different kinds of berries. But it’s really crucial to kill of all larvae and snail eggs SOON! Before they start to creep & fly around..
