I'm guessing that the immediate response for a lot of people will be, “Oh, for heaven's sake, not more about election fraud”.

I'd also suggest that that's precisely the response designed to be elicited by “flooding the zone”.

Through his continuous broadcasts about “rigged elections", Trump has desensitised people to the issue. We don't want to hear any more about it right at the point when we should.

The "flood the zone" strategy is clearly continuing with Trump's appointments. It's more difficult to defend a single individual. If Gaetz were the only cabinet pick accused of sexual misconduct attention could easily be focused on him.
