Before 1973, U.S. newspapers used to carry ads, "Help Wanted: Male" and "Help Wanted: Female."

Until 1968, it was legal to refuse to sell a house to someone based on their ethnic heritage.

This isn't ancient history. And this is what they're rolling back.
