For 250 years, the United States has ; supported democracy.

Now, in the middle of a horrific war that Putin started, Trump is turning his back on Ukraine and democracy, all to the benefit of a brutal dictator in Moscow.

***Readers added context they thought people might want to know

Even under Obama in 2015, the United States was providing weapons and/or military training to 73% of the world's dictatorships as classified by Freedom House. The US is the #1 supporter of dictatorships in the world.

Today is an auspicious day in #USHistory. A Brown WOMAN, #LolitaLebron, tried to snuff a few congresscreeps😎

“On March 1, 1954... It was twelve noon when a woman and three men stood up in the spectators gallery. The small, slender woman grabbed her .45 automatic with both hands, fired the first shots and ☠️kept on going until her clip was empty☠️.”

YES!

“On March 1, 1954, the members of the u.s. house of representatives were busily discussing their empire, making decisions that would affect people the world over. One of the topics to be discussed that day was the status of the Chamizal district between Texas and Mexico, that the Mexican government wanted back (and which the u.s. did not want to give up). The rulers of the united states empire were also going to discuss Puerto Rico that day since our nation was still reacting to the attempted revolution of 1950. It was twelve noon when a woman and three men stood up in the spectators gallery. The small, slender woman grabbed her .45 automatic with both hands, fired the first shots and kept on going until her clip was empty.”

It's an Auspicious day in #USHistory. It's the day they 🔥burned🔥 the Isla Vista Bank Of AmeriKKKa to the mothefucking ground.😎

"That evening, the unrest spread, as student broke the windows of several real estate agencies, set police cars on fire, and then began targeting the Isla Vista Bank of America building, ultimately burning it down... During the incident, several waves of riot-clad police were repelled by protesters."

"The #KentStateMassacre, which occurred on May 4, 1970, involved the Ohio #NationalGuard shooting unarmed #CollegeStudents during a #protest against the Vietnam War at Kent State University, resulting in four deaths and nine injuries. This tragic event sparked widespread outrage and led to the largest student strike in U.S. history."

Stop saying "DEI is being attacked." Civil rights are being attacked.

Before 1973, U.S. newspapers used to carry ads, "Help Wanted: Male" and "Help Wanted: Female."

Until 1968, it was legal to refuse to sell a house to someone based on their ethnic heritage.

This isn't ancient history. And this is what they're rolling back.

Employment ad from the Pittsburgh Press, 1971, shows jobs classified by "male" and "female"
Help wanted director lists jobs by "female" and "male"
Help Wanted ad from the 1970s says, "MEN NEEDED: EARN HIGH WAGES"

"From the forced assimilation campaigns designed to erase #Indigenous cultures to the all-encompassing white supremacist terror of the #JimCrow South, it was all too easy to think of ways the #GenocideConvention could be deployed against the US."

#philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker signed a law making civil rights trailblazer Caroline LeCount the first Black woman to have a city street named after her. Better yet, the street had previously been named after Supreme Court Chief Justice Roger Taney, the author of the Dred Scott decision in 1857. The city is currently renaming all of the streets named after him. #ushistory #Heroes #sheroes #civilrights #history https://www.phillytrib.com/news/local_news/philly-mayor-signs-into-law-making-caroline-lecount-first-black-woman-with-city-streets-in/article_ca1d0d8d-a119-535a-afd6-8c01774ed10f.html

64 years ago on this day in 1960, 6-year old Ruby Bridges walked into the William Frantz Elementary School in New Orleans, escorted by 4 federal marshals and made history by becoming the first African-American child to attend an all-white elementary school in the South.

Her courage and poise paved the way for the fight for Civil Rights and Justice.
