I see your view. However I don't have the same views because I am on my own instance and as such, in charge of myself. It's easy enough to host your own instance these days so you wouldn't have to worry about being censored like that.

Like @heretical_i pointed out, everyone running a private server doesn't do anything to the federation dynamics, like having a blog nobody lists as existing.

How many neocities blogs have you seen on hits of gogoo search? I can't even find my own.

They seem to do well with some commercial wordpress servers, most likely because wordpress is paying them to.
