I find it difficult to not get into the line edit weeds when re-reading something, so this should have three frames. In the next, the slices get glued back together again in a slightly different order. The last frame is a repeat of the first...
Ha! I just had that experience with my first novel, which was published 20 years ago. It felt like it might go on forever!
It's particularly "fun" when you're three or more cycles in and realize the paragraph is now exactly the same as the first version, save for maybe a comma!

It's a good thing I was insane when I started this.
It's a real advantage.
