I think now greed will get decarbonization most of the way now, renewable energy is the cheapest way to get electricity now, and there are big profits to be had selling electricity and not having to have a coal or natural gas bill the power your power plant anymore. A lot of countries have the same realization too, India's biggest foreign exchange expense is oil, and China also doesn't like to import oil either. For them it's also a national security issue.
