let’s just say you missed about 1000 nuances there buddy
Electric cars were invented in the late 1800s. Ford, GM, hundreds of companies made EVs in the early 1900s. The oil and gas industry effectively killed off EVs for a century.

Today’s EVs exist to kill the oil and gas industry. This time they will.
This old FUD. Your going to have to try harder.
i'd rather say they are invented to save our way of living. People able to stop using a car should do it as much as they can, but I think there will always be some interest for electric cars, even in a world where we reach carbon neutrality. What do you think?
Yes, the promotion of electric cars, hybrids, Uber and similar businesses, and the future promise of automated vehicles are indeed about saving the car and related industries. Incumbents strive to minimise change partly by ensuring a future similar to the present and recent past. In the case of the car, this is sometimes called #automobility, and there is research supporting this.
This is not based on any science, engineering or maths.

If all current road vehicles were electric, road transport energy consumption would be halved.

The same impact would happen to emissions.

Apart from that the existing car industry (the one you are referring to) is doing badly changing to electric.

The winners are the Chinese who never had a bloody car industry.
