There is something abhorrent about King Charles III praising another monarchy's peace efforts in the Middle East as his own Government, along with the US, continues to supply arms, thus facilitating the almost total annihilation of Gaza.

Amid reporting from the United Nations of #genocide and populations suffering from disease and starvation, the British state, led by royalty, chooses to celebrate with a banquet of pheasant wrapped in Savoy cabbage, roasted celeriac puree and potato gratin.

The 'optics' and timing are grotesque even with the addition of David Beckam and Kemi Badenoch to the celebrity guest list.

It really does beggar belief.
