Across the world the right to repair is gaining traction... in the UK Jay Blades & his colleagues on The Repair Shop have pushed repairing into the mainstream.

This has been going on for some time, including cycle repair Co-ops, repair clinics etc. Every now & then it pops up in the mainstream media... and here is this week's iteration.

Repairing is the future, but the Tech firms don't want us to embrace it - resist!

A start-up packaging company combines fungi with organic waste to grow and create compostable packaging.

Organic waste and mycelium is grown for 7 days in a mold and the final product is able to be used in place of traditional materials such as polystyrene.

After use, the packaging can be composted in the garden.

Let's do this now! 🍄

The fungi packaging is currently being trialled for use on products such as cosmetics and wine bottles.

I finally got round to documenting the A8 micronotepad which has gradually became an extension of myself.

"This notepad is pretty much two bank cards, with a bit of duct tape as a 'spine' and an elastic band to keep the paper in. This design came out of a need to have a completely portable way to take notes."

A mostly white bank card on a wood veneer table. A piece of silver duct tape is visible on the left side, joining it to another bank card behind. A notch is cur out at the right hand side, and an indent is visible into which a magnet is recessed.
The notepad opened. A small piece, folded in half, rises upwards. The magnet and corresponding metal strip of the closing mechanism are visible in corresponding sides, masked with duct tape. The elastic band holding the paper to the notepad is visible vertically.
