Depicts a very large man, having mighty muscles but no head, with no shirt on and being examined by a uniformed officer. Sign on the wall reads: "Men wanted for the Army measurements ..." Notes Robert Minor's cartoon appeared in The Masses, July, 1916. The Masses was a Greenwich Village (N.Y.) magazine that took an antiwar position. In 1917, it was suppressed by the U.S. Government. Robert Minor could have become the outstanding American cartoonist of the twentieth century, but instead he chose political life."
