I noticed these tulips about three years ago. They're planted near the sidewalk in the high desert New Mexico soil, surrounded by native plants that can live in an environment only watered by nature- and we're in a drought.
Yet, these are spectacular this year. If you look closely you can see the tire tracks where a truck is driven into the yard to load or unload cargo.

Sometimes, these days it feels like we are playing a real world game of Monopoly. Working our way around the board with a chance of any number of calamities getting between us and Go.
Our current hiccup will be figuring out the best way to get my shoulder fixed. Our independence definitely depends on my mobility and dexterity. I'm sure I can do this, but I can't help but feel a little afraid. I'm sure my husband does too, but isn't saying. Summer is a skilled support dog and I won't be shy about leaning on her for extra doggie love.
Advice and good wishes from our Mastodon family definitely warm my heart and boost my confidence that all will be fine.
It will be fine.
Maybe not tomorrow but soon.

I don't label any of the pots so we can enjoy the surprise. The mix of colors and varieties.
The colors are so intense.
