And here, I am back with one of the greatest #roads of #Madeira. It is closed now and replaced by many boring tunnels. … but back in 2004 it was outrageous … so small, that you had to drive backwards, if a big bus came from the opposite.
This Picture shows the same road with a big tourists bus coming around the corner. If you had the ‚luck‘ of meeting with one on this road, you had to drive backwards to the last place, where it was possible to get out of the way.
The picture shows the old road on the northern coast of Madeira … here at the ‚Veu da Noiva‘ (Bridestail) warerfall. The road goes through a tunnel behind the waterfall. At the right side of the image you can see a car driving on that road.
This is the view from the other side. At the left side of the Image, you can see how small that street was.

'Markttag' ist jeden Tag in Funchal

Das Bild zeigt einen belebten Markt mit frischem Obst und Gemüse, aufgenommen von einer erhöhten Perspektive. Die Marktstände sind mit grünen Sonnenschirmen bedeckt und präsentieren eine bunte Vielfalt an Produkten wie Tomaten, Orangen, Bananen, Bohnen und Knoblauch. In der Mitte des Bildes befindet sich ein überdachter Eingang mit roten und weißen Zierelementen, der mit blühenden Pflanzen bewachsen ist. Menschen bewegen sich durch den Markt, einige tragen Einkaufstaschen, andere unterhalten sich oder begutachten die Waren. Die Architektur des Marktes hat eine offene, luftige Gestaltung mit umlaufenden Balkonen im oberen Bereich, von denen aus weitere Besucher auf das Marktgeschehen blicken können.

Wind and rain have abated for today, so took the path up the cliff on the west side of Machico. Found my way to this abandoned Olympic swimming pool complex.
