Got a parking fine.
£100
For parking in a 'clearly marked permit holder only' space. Except I wasn't, I was parked in a clearly marked Patient Parking space at a private hospital.
I phoned the hospital who told me that this happens all the time and that they'd cancel the fine - they didn't check if we were legitimate patients.
I can only assume that they, and the parking firm - Parking Eye - make shit loads of cash from this ruse.

“Fun fact: #SimCity was forced to pretend that all parking lots were underground because the game would be really boring if it was proportional in terms of parking lots.”
Boring like too many real places ruined by too much parking?

We Should Be Building Cities for People, Not Cars
The way we live is shaped by our infrastructure—the public spaces, building codes, and utilities that serve a city or region. It can act as the foundation for thriving communities, but it can also establish unhealthy patterns when designed poorly.devonzuegel.com
