This is a portrait format colour image of an Italianate shuttered window with a Juliet balcony. The dark green wooden shutters sit within two tall, arched white stone window frames. This is a landscape format colour photograph taken from underneath a wooden pier. Taken standing on the concrete sea wall, the wooden struts of the pier curve away from the viewer to the left. Light falls through the boards of the walkway above creating a grid of shadows and light. Between the struts to the left, the sea is visible together with a further seawall on which stands a lighthouse. The light is diffuse and the colours muted: it almost appears grey scale. Taken with a Sony RX100 in Whitby, Yorkshire.
