I guess it's a mixture of some lying, some misguided belief, but it seems to me that some journalists, some politicians, some commentators really believe in the falsehoods they spread.
So even now, after a year of genocide, there are Israel supporters who still believe they are the victims who are defending themselves.

But it's a case of blind faith and propaganda versus overwhelming evidence and compassion.
