I discovered a few days ago that sardine bones can attract bees, even if you bury it in a pot. Needless to say seeing bees swarm around my balcony was enough for me to end my composting experiment 😆

I really did not want to attract another swarm to build a nest next to my living room.

Have anyone encountered the same phenomenon?

Cooked food scraps, including bones, can be pickled to make a #bokashi compost.

You only need an air tight container you can tap the liquid out of (or two containers fitting snugly together where only the liquid drains into the second container).

The diluted liquid is used on the garden.

Add a spray of lactic acid bacteria each time you add food scraps to the bin and it’ll start the pickling process.

The pickled pre-bokashi compost is buried in soil to make #compost.
