"#StrategicSurrender has always been a policy adopted by states facing total #defeat and occupation."

eerrrrr .. 🤔 🤨

Does #Trump know something that we don't ?

.
I don't know.

I mean the #Trump lunatics are planning to do some really stupid stuff in the future that might explode badly in their faces IF they go through with that.

But that doesn't mean the #USA would be right now in a position where it absolutely has to opt for a #StrategicSurrender.

(And of course they always have the option to like, you know, not do stupid stuff.)

I'm really not seeing the need here. Missing something ?

After bit of research, I think this is whats happening:

Step1: #Musk dismantles the #US #bureaucracy (which also happens to run the whole country, but whatever) to get a balanced #budget (which will be really low, because there won't be much revenue - but also not many expenses)

Step2: #Trump declares #bankruptcy for the US (which isn't technically declaring but negotiating and also not called bankruptcy but debt restructuring)

Step3: you my american friends are really fucked (& we a little)
And since #Trump, #Musk & Co. don't want to start this crazy project on their last day in office, but asap, they are willing to make a shitty deal with #Russia just to have some space to move.

The Russians must be rolling on the floor laughing. Not only is the US gifting a #Victory to them that they haven't earned - no, it's doing so to fasten up it's economic suicide.

This is all very discomforting.

😬
One: in general as a prophylactic statement: The Russians have nothing to do with it. Sorry, but it had to be said, too much russophobic paranoia around.
Two: You are making the mistake of assuming Trump&Friends give a shit about the US in general. They give a shit about their own kind: rich people.
And for the ultra rich, chaos is an opportunity to strengthen their grip on the rest of us.
We are right back at feudalism, the restauration won.
yeah well .. my starting point was why the #USA is in such a hurry to follow through with #StrategicSurrender towards #Russia. U can read the OP.

That lead to the "debt restucturing" plans from #Trump.

Maby the two things aren't related, but happening in parallel. I don't know.

But whats your take on the strategic surrender & why has it to be so fast ?

I believe that first, ISS is making the same mistake of assuming Trump is negotiating for the USA and not himself.
Second, Trump & Friends have big plans for the US at home, and when they get back to the world they want to address what they perceive as their only real threat: China.
And here's where i agree with them) although i am surprised they agree with me): The US and Western global hegemony is at its weakest in many decades, and they have been in decline for a long time. 1/n
