Abu Hamza: The Palestinian Hero and Hollywood Myths

798355
Hollywood, backed by the United States, has always tried to craft the image of the invincible “superhero” through characters like Superman, Batman, and Captain America—figures meant to embody absolute power, protecting the world and saving the innocent.
In these films, the hero appears masked, possessing superhuman abilities, fighting “evil” in the name of justice. But what Hollywood never tells us is that this “hero” is part of a propaganda machine designed to promote America’s image as a force of absolute good, even as it arms and supports the occupation in killing innocent people.

In contrast, through the lens of reality, “Abu Hamza,” the spokesperson for Saraya Al-Quds, or the martyr Naji Abu Seif, emerged. After the mask was lifted, he appeared as a genuine Palestinian fighter, without cinematic effects or as a super-powered being, but with a determination stronger than fiction.

When the mask came off after his martyrdom, it did not reveal the face of a mythical hero manufactured in film studios. Instead, it was the face of a simple young man who lived among his people, fought for them, and was martyred carrying the cause of his homeland.

Similarly, Abu Obeida, spokesperson for Al-Qassam—and in fact all factions— appeared masked in such a way that, according to polls, their appearance carried a strength, anticipation, and breath-holding power greater than field operations. Indeed, a word from the masked man [Al-Mulatham] proved stronger than rockets.

For years, Western media has portrayed the Palestinian fighter as nothing more than a “terrorist” or an “outlaw,” while depicting the American or “israeli” soldier as a hero fighting for “freedom.” Yet the Palestinian has proven himself to be the rightful owner of the land and the true narrative. In contrast, their so-called heroes—products of paper and drama—have been exposed as cowards, oppressors, and enablers of crimes against humanity.

The reality was different when Abu Hamza’s face was revealed; it did not match the stereotypical image that had been imprinted in people’s minds. He was an ordinary young man with calm features—someone who could have been someone you know: a neighbor, a friend, a brother. But he chose the path of resistance, becoming the voice of the voiceless.

How many people imagined that behind the mask was a massive warrior with fierce features and a piercing gaze, as American action films portray their heroes? How many viewers assumed that a Palestinian fighter must be an emotionless beast? But when his face was unveiled, we saw eyes carrying the story of a captive defying his jailer, a heart beating with humanity for his people and comrades, and a gentle smile reminding the world that true heroes do not need superpowers to be immortalized in history.

As always, “israel” believes that by killing a person, it can end his cause. Yet it has not understood that Abu Hamza’s voice will not disappear. Instead, it will echo in the generations to come, carrying his cause forward. His voice was not merely a “military statement”—it was the heartbeat of the resistance, a symbol of the ordinary man who became a genuine legend, not because he possessed superpowers, but because he held faith and resilience in the face of the occupation.
Unlike Hollywood, where heroes are designed in script rooms and brought to life by actors on camera, Abu Hamza emerged from the battlefield itself—from the streets and alleys of Gaza, from the rubble of destroyed homes. He needed no super suit or extraordinary abilities—only an unbreakable will and steadfast determination that made him a symbol of Palestinian resistance.

If “Superman” was created as a model of American power, then Abu Hamza was the embodiment of the strength of the ordinary Palestinian, who does not need visual effects or fictional narratives to forge his legacy.

He was real in every sense of the word—fighting on the ground, protecting his people, and speaking to the world with a voice that “israel” could not silence, even after his martyrdom.

In the end, Abu Hamza will not just be another name on the list of Palestinian martyrs. He will remain a timeless symbol, inspiring future generations and reminding the world of the truth of this struggle. The mask may have fallen, but the man did not, nor did his cause.

If the occupation believes it can end the story by assassinating him, it has yet to realize that true stories do not end with death—they begin with it. This figure’s symbolism lies in its survival and permanence, just as the artist Naji Al-Ali has become a model.

Today, Palestinians lift their masks to tell the world: “We are not cinematic characters. We are not superheroes born in Hollywood studios. This is our real life, this is our struggle, and this is our strength in the face of occupation.

Has “israel” understood the message?

Abu Hamza will reappear once again—not with visual or sound effects—but he himself, with his own voice, his own eyes, his real mask, and a black headband embroidered with “Saraya Al-Quds,” his right hand waving with a powerful promise. At that moment, the truth will be undeniable: the schools of history have written the Palestinian to remain standing tall with honor despite all attempts at erasure.

No matter how hard the occupation may try to erase the face, it forgets that the Palestinian lineage is deeply rooted and ever-extending, and that the Palestinian womb gives birth only to heroes.

At that moment, rub your eyes well and be certain: heroism is originally, linguistically Palestinian.

Your sun will never set, Abu Hamza

To the Loyal Sons of the Resistance in the West Bank — Saraya Al-Quds

445012

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
“And We wanted to bestow favor upon those who were oppressed in the land and make them leaders and make them inheritors.”To the masses of our steadfast, fighting, and patient people, to our resisting, determined, and steadfast families in the brave West Bank, its proud cities, and its camps – the reservoir of the revolution:
Peace be upon the martyrs, the noblest among us all, peace be upon those who sacrificed their blood so that we may live, who wrote with their blood the most remarkable tales of heroism and sacrifice, and who continue to draw for us a picture of pride and glory, of martyrdom and victory.

Peace be upon their families, their loved ones, and their companions. Peace be upon our brave wounded. Peace be upon our heroic prisoners in the occupation’s jails. Peace be upon our fighting West Bank, upon Jenin, Tulkarem, Tubas, Nablus, Areeha, and upon the camps, the proud countryside, and its heroic people.

A salute of reverence and honor to you from your triumphant Saraya and its fighting brigades, which have written the most epic tales of bravery and engaged in battle after battle in defense of our people in the West Bank and Gaza. We have offered up our leaders and fighters as martyrs to remain the spearhead of the resistance and the guardians of the cause from being lost.

Your victorious Saraya, alongside all the free factions of the resistance, continue with strength and honor to escalate the resistance in the West Bank, its proud governorates, camps, and villages, where the enemy witnesses the might of its fighters daily. We have always been, and will continue to be, the sword poised over the necks of the zionists. Your brave brigades remain steadfast, victorious for you and for your wounds, offering all that is precious for this cause. Your Saraya have always been the upper hand in every battle and confrontation, the ones with the decisive word in the field of resistance.

To the masses of our proud, fighting people…
As we live through the steadfastness of the battle of Al-Aqsa Flood, where we are writing the first steps of victory and liberation alongside the fighters of our people in Gaza and the supporting fronts, we speak to you as some have wagered on our retreat or hesitation. But never! We will remain the loyal shield for the blood of our people. We have offered our finest leaders and founders, and we continue to offer sacrifices along this blessed path of steadfastness and liberation. At the same time, the [Palestinian] Authority’s apparatus continues its treacherous role of pursuing the wanted fighters, firing at them, and setting ambushes for them, in an attempt to divert the resistance from its course against the enemy.

To the loyal sons of the resistance in the West Bank…

Amidst this battle, we affirm the following:

1- We, in Saraya Al-Quds, have not and will not divert our weapons, by the grace of Allah and the determination of our fighters, who showed the enemy some of their might in Qabatiya this morning. We believe the message has reached the enemy and its collaborators. What they witnessed today in Qabatiya, in Qalqilya, and before that in “Tel Aviv,” is only a glimpse of our might. What is coming, with Allah’s permission, will be more severe and more bitter.

2- We warn the zionist enemy against attempting any aggression or launching a wide-scale attack on the cities of the West Bank, attempting to annex lands, or implementing the dreams of its extremists and its defeated military leaders. Any foolish step will be met with immediate retaliation from the blood of its leaders, soldiers, and settlers. The enemy knows us well.

3- Our brigades in the West Bank affirm that they are in wide coordination with all the fighters of our people to organize and unify the resistance in accordance with the demands and conditions of the battlefield.

4- Under no circumstances will we allow anyone, whoever they may be, to take away the weapons of the resistance or to alter its direction or compass. Our weapons, across our extended brigades, will remain directed toward the enemy.

5- We affirm that our fighters are in excellent condition, in the best of spirits and determination, their resolve reaching the skies. Our heroes will not allow the isolation and targeting of the Jenin battalion and its loyal fighters in the camp that has given, and continues to give, martyrs.

6- We have followed the zionist assassination operation against the fighters of our loyal people in Jenin camp while the [Palestinian] Authority completes the zionist role by besieging the camp and depriving its people of basic necessities, as a form of collective punishment no different from the methods of the enemy’s leaders against our people in Gaza.

7- We renew our pledge, loyalty, and pride in our steadfast people in proud Gaza, in besieged Jenin, in our martyrs, our wounded, and our prisoners. We affirm to you that we will continue resisting this occupation until the last bullet and the last fighter. No retreat, no surrender. It is either victory or martyrdom.

A salute to our steadfast people in all cities, towns, villages, and camps for their resilience and great sacrifices in defense of the resistance project and for embracing our people and fighters despite the harsh conditions.

Our jihad continues and our weapons remain raised in all arenas.

Palestinian Islamic Jihad Urges Unity and Rejects Conflict Amid PA’s Jenin Repressive Campaign

392177

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) Movement confirmed on Saturday that it “will not be drawn into internal strife,” despite the security campaign being carried out by Palestinian Authority (PA) forces in the Jenin refugee camp.

In this context, the PIJ called on the Fatah movement to refocus on national unity, urging the PA to immediately halt its security and media campaigns and lift the siege on the Jenin camp.

In a statement, the PIJ emphasized that it has been subjected to a systematic media campaign since the start of the PA’s security operations in Jenin, aimed at tarnishing its path, “casting doubt on its national affiliation, and disregarding its noble history and sacrifices.” The campaign has even targeted the movement’s leaders and symbols personally.

The statement also mentioned that the Jenin Brigade has endured a “ferocious campaign of arrests, pursuits, and weapons fire, alongside a media and security siege aimed at breaking its resolve,” with the goal of provoking internal conflict.

The statement further clarified that this “serves only the Zionist occupation, which seeks to incite division and portray the Palestinian people as engaged in internal fighting, to push its narrative and justify its crimes against Gaza.”

Preventing bloodshed

Despite these provocations, PIJ “reaffirms its commitment to avoiding internal discord, adhering to its principles, safeguarding the blood of the Palestinian people, and honoring the sacrifices of martyrs, the wounded, and prisoners.” The movement stated that it is fully aware these provocations aim to drag it into an internal conflict, which it will not engage in.

The movement also explained that from the outset, it has put forward multiple initiatives and mediations to spare the people from the horrors of division and prevent bloodshed. However, all such efforts were thwarted, and all doors for peaceful solutions were closed, despite the movement’s determination to prioritize wisdom.

As a result, the movement warned that the situation has taken a dangerous turn with the increasing campaigns of repression and mistreatment by the PA’s forces against citizens who express opposition to division. It stressed that these actions, which aim to silence voices calling for wisdom and restraint, “constitute a blatant violation of freedom of expression and contradict the sanctity of preserving Palestinian blood.”

In this regard, the movement appealed to national leaders and figures from various political and social factions to play their role in preserving Palestinian blood and working toward a solution that defends Palestinian unity.

Addressing the Palestinian people, the movement reiterated its firm commitment to preserving national unity and its resolute rejection of all forms of division, which only serve the occupation.

The statement concluded by emphasizing that the movement “has offered its finest leaders and members in loyalty to the path of Resistance,” affirming its commitment to its weapons and Resistance until Palestine is liberated.

Al-Quds Brigades target Zionists in Nablus, Jenin amid West Bank incursions

In parallel, the occupation continued their storming of the West Bank this week.

The al-Quds Brigades in Nablus, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine, announced that it targeted occupation forces who invaded the city of Nablus and the Askar camp on Friday morning.

In a statement, the group said it attacked the Zionist occupation’s military vehicles in the Roujeib area with heavy gunfire, confirming direct hits.

Meanwhile, the al-Quds Brigade – Jenin Battalion, reported that its members from the engineering unit successfully detonated several anti-personnel and anti-vehicle explosives, targeting invading infantry soldiers and their vehicles.

Additionally, a young man was injured and three others were detained during the occupation’s invasion of the Askar al-Jadid camp, east of Nablus, and several neighborhoods in the city.

Sources from the Palestinian Red Crescent reported that a 20-year-old man was shot in the hand with live ammunition in the Askar al-Jadid camp and was transferred to the hospital for treatment.

According to journalistic sources, Zionist military jeeps and vehicles stormed the Askar al-Jadid camp, firing live bullets, sonic grenades, and smoke grenades, which resulted in the young man’s injury. All entrances to the camp were closed, and medical teams and Civil Defense personnel were prevented from entering.

Zionist military vehicles also raided several neighborhoods in the city, as well as the village of Qusra, south of Nablus, searching homes and causing damage.

Furthermore, occupation forces stormed the town of al-Khader, south of Beit Lahm, on Friday, positioning themselves in areas such as Baloua, the Grand Mosque, and the Gate, where they fired tear gas canisters and stun grenades.

The West Bank has been experiencing daily clashes, particularly since the onset of the Zionist aggression on Gaza, with towns and cities subjected to constant invasions, large-scale arrest campaigns, and casualties among those resisting occupation forces.
