I read an interesting story from Dropsite that I'm not going to link because it's on Substack. But it was a deeper dive into the LA Fire Dept budgeting over the last few years.

I'll just say that decisions were made that look pretty stupid today in light of the destruction of entire sections of the city.

But what strikes me is the difference between the discussions of fire dept budgets vs police dept budgets.

We have a priorities problem in the USA.

Canada is helping California fight the devastating wildfires! Several provinces AND agencies are providing support. Quebec has sent two of its CL-415 water bombers, pilots & their crews to assist in the firefighting efforts.
