Farewell, #YaST.

"YaST in maintenance mode […] replaced by #Agama, #Cockpit and #Ansible"

aus "Systems Management with SLES 16": https://www.suse.com/c/systems-management-with-suse-linux-enterprise-server-16/

New blog post!

This time I'm talking about my Raspberry Pi cluster, and there's a bit of everything, Kubernetes, Ansible, BOINC, all that magic.

Reintro!

I'm Dylan, a #fullstack #webdev from the Midwest, US. I like working with #js and #svelte so much that I wrote a book about #sveltekit! I've also worked extensively with #php and #WordPress but try to avoid the latter if I can.

I spend my days in the terminals of various #Linux machines and tweaking my #Vim config. I automate my #homelab with #ansible. I write about web dev on my #blog.

I enjoy #pcgaming and will occasionally #shitpost and boost #memes so brace yourself.

It took me a long time: Here is how I put a #django app in #docker, serve it with #traefik and automate the deployment with #ansible

I started the project at #GPN and consider it finished with this blog post 🥳

How do you share configuration files in a small team?

I work in a small, remote team and want to share a vars.yml (#ansible) file that contains a lot of different secrets and is ~600 lines

If you love #selfhosting and #ansible you should check out this project: https://github.com/mother-of-all-self-hosting/mash-playbook

We try to put as many services as we can into one playbook. To enable a service you often only need to put in 1-3 variables. It is less than a week old and we already have quite a few services integrated, from #nextcloud, #vaultwarden and #miniflux to #gitea or #WoodpeckerCI

Have a look!

Which name would you suggest for a service that does nothing else that display a static html page linking other services (see screenshot).

It would be used in an #ansible playbook like e.g. <currently_unnamed>_port

I did something 😇

#CollaboraOnline integrated into #Nextcloud with just two commands? Yes!

With the following #Ansible playbook you can easily deploy your own @nextcloud server within an hour (with experience more like 12 minutes).

I now added support for @CollaboraOffice so you can easily work on documents together. The playbook takes care of the (secure) configuration for you
