From two nights ago. We had clear skies last night but pretty close to zero solar wind. Plenty of stars but no aurora.

Some nights it's on fire, some nights it's asleep :)

How do #videos do here? I shoot a lot of #timelapse in Tasmania’s wilderness, especially #astrophotography.

On this night in the highlands documenting the #aurora, I became swamped by thick fog. The scintillating light through the branches was overwhelming to behold.

These #trees are some of the rarest on earth – they’re found only in a few dozen hectares. There’s only a few hundred living specimens left – Eucalyptus gunnii subsp. divaricata, better known as the Miena cider gum.

Gonna be lazy and just pop a little "in-camera" timelapse from late in the evening. Things were dialling down by this stage, and the snow was about to arrive.
