Ended up with more clear skies tonight, despite the forecast. Was testing out the S&Q video mode on the new camera today and it happened to be rolling when the aurora spiked in the early evening.

I love a little moonlight with aurora photography, even a full moon.

How do #videos do here? I shoot a lot of #timelapse in Tasmania’s wilderness, especially #astrophotography.

On this night in the highlands documenting the #aurora, I became swamped by thick fog. The scintillating light through the branches was overwhelming to behold.

These #trees are some of the rarest on earth – they’re found only in a few dozen hectares. There’s only a few hundred living specimens left – Eucalyptus gunnii subsp. divaricata, better known as the Miena cider gum.

Gonna be lazy and just pop a little "in-camera" timelapse from late in the evening. Things were dialling down by this stage, and the snow was about to arrive.
