Hat jemand Erfahrung mit #freedombox oder #yunohost?

🪼 Für mein Verständnis ist es keine „Wahl des Übels“.
Der entscheidende Unterschied für eine Bewertung ist, dass im Fediverse/bei Mastodon alle frei sind, die Instanz zu wechseln, Accounts bei mehreren zu führen und vor allem, eine eigene zu betreiben.
Das ist mit Yunohost oder Wordpress ganz einfach; ich probiere beide zur Zeit aus.

Eine Frage an die IT Menschen:

Angenommen ich miete mir einen vServer, um mit #yunohost mehrere Fediverse Instanzen + WordPress zu hosten.

Wird einem mit YunoHost lediglich die Installation erleichtert oder auch die spätere Administration? Mein Gefühl sagt mir, das letzteres vielleicht sogar erschwert wird, wenn man bspw. via SSH auf Konfig Dateien zugreifen möchte…

Das kommt auf den Dienst an. Mit #Mastodon, #Hubzilla und #GoToSocial geht das einfach, mit #Friendica nicht.

Die Idee eines #Fediverse Dienstes selbst auf #yunohost zu hosten ist gar nicht so einfach.

Nicht alle Pakete sind auf dem neuesten Stand, #Iceshrimp auf 2023...

und eine domain braucht es auch noch...

I started the week in the best possible way: lunch with two @yunohost team members. I was trying hard not to fangirl too much 🤗

I thanked them profusely for their incredible work, empowering us all with the tools to self-host. It's thanks to #YunoHost that I have my own #Pixelfed, #GoToSocial and #Friendica accounts. I hope I'll be able to give back one day.

Dear Bubble, I need you help today. I am struggling to get my #iceshrimp instance to work properly since 3 days now and I am at the end of my wisdom.
Here is the thing: I use #yunohost for setting it up, and it is up, accessible, it federates, I can post things, comment on things, follow and be followed. I can also upload files.
However, I can't use the import function for anything (which is bad with a few hundred people I want to follow) and I can't crop images (for profile and banner pic). I did some research and I found an issue that is describing what my problem is github.com/YunoHost-Apps/iceshrimp_ynh/issues/21)
Basically, when I try to do those blocked actions I receive
"Feb 19 15:30:51 services.local npm[23814]: ERR 1 [server] RequestError: Blocked address: 127.0.0.1"

services.local is my local Yunohost domain while Iceshrimp lives on a subdomain for another domain.
I played around with NGINX config as well as Iceshrimp config. If I add
"allowedPrivateNetworks: - 127.0.0.1/8" (properly indented of course) the error message goes to Bad Gateway.
I also tried to disable SSOWAT without any luck so far. Any help is appreciated at this point.

Es war eine wirklich eine Woche zum verrückt werden. Mein1Blu V-Server hat mir vieles abverlangt. Irgendwann habe ich rausbekommen, dass meine Probleme Virtuozzo verursacht hat. Unter KVM ein neues Debian installiert und schon läuft alles so wie es soll. Naja, auf jeden Fall ist Foddo.net mein neues Fediverse-Zuhause und ich hoffe, dass diese eigene Instanz lange und ohne Probleme läuft.

ich bin von Mastodon weggezogen und hab mich für #Iceshrimp entschieden. Es ist Mastodon ähnlich genug, dass ich mich zuhause fühle. Ich mochte bei #Hubzila, was ja so ähnlich wie #Friendica ist nicht, dass du praktisch nicht einseitig followen kannst, sondern die Bestätigung brauchst. Insgesamt liegt mir das "schnellere" Verhalten von Iceshrimp mehr. Und das man hier Seiten anlegen kann gefällt mir auch gut. Nicht so gut finde ich, dass der Seiteneditor deutlich einfacher als der von Hubzilla ist (obwohl ich den auch blöd fand).
Ich habe mir auch schon eine eigene Instanz mittels #Yunohost aufgesetzt, die funktioniert aber noch so lala. Da bin ich noch in der Analyse, hoffe aber, dass ich das Problem gelöst bekomme. Ich berichte gerne, wenn du willst.

For the record, I installed YunoHost on my VPS on December 17th, so it’s been less than 2 months. And I’ve already run (and survived) app updates.

#AskFedi I wish to improve the search results / discoverability of interesting content for my self-hosted #Pixelfed instance.

I set it up earlier this week via #YunoHost and I'm having issues finding content when I look up hashtags.

As a photographer, I wanted to actively look for photos tagged with camera brand names (Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm) but so far I'm finding very few results (see screenshot). I wonder if you have any recommendations as to how to tweak my settings? Thanks in advance! ✨

@Matthias @Friendica Statistics Meine Instanz läuft unter #Yunohost und da braucht man keinen Cronjob, da macht das der Daemon. (Habe ich kontrolliert in den Worker Warteschlangen. Die werden alle abgearbeitet)

Hat irgendwer auf dieser Welt schon mal einen #Friendica #Server unter #Yunohost zum Laufen gebracht? Die Installation ist bei mir einwandfrei durchgelaufen, aber ich kann mich nicht mit meinem Administrator Account anmelden. Das scheint wohl ein sehr verbreitetes Problem zu sein, aber eine Lösung habe ich nicht gefunden. So klappt das nicht mit dem #Fediverse 😭
