And we're in 🚂
My emotional support donkey is ready to report for duty.

I used the travel assistance service from Eurostar to help through all the steps from security to getting to the train and it was super smooth, easy, and very friendly. A faff to book on the phone but worth it at the station.

An evening spent with a friend and her cat.
A morning Yunnan brew to start the day right.
Later, we're going out for brunch and then it'll be time for more travel. This time, in a coach.

Let the coach travel begin 🚌
My partner and I were waiting with a group of nuns going to where my grandparents used to live. This is not where we're going this time.

The dog has been greeted and many a cuddle have been enjoyed.

Today I learned to sew a button on a pair of jeans, properly.
Sure I can research it online but I find the internet overwhelming for this sort of thing. And here, I can learn from my mother and hear all the tricks and habits she picked up along her sewing life.

Later, I'll learn to repair a broken seam. I have done it but always very messily and never very well.

And now we travel some more. This time in a car to meet up with more family for the weekend.

A late night, very late. A lot of laughs and games. A lot of food. For once, everyone together and an ease of conversation, hugs, and care.

This morning, tea to waken my tired body.

No travel today, instead something completely different.
My nephew's team won so all is well and now I am toasty by the fire.

After a weekend of too much food and a lot of laughs, I am once again in a train.

It is not yet time to go home. For now I am bound for Lyon. I've heard a lot of good things about the place but have never made it there before. I'm looking forward to seeing a little bit of it.

Today has so far been about random shops (including a stationery shop. I may or may not have purchased some ink...) and a fair amount of food. This is the only photo I remembered to take 😆 I have been too busy enjoying myself.

Pacing has been okay. Energy has been okay.
I'm supposed to go out tonight for some jazz. We'll see if that happens...

I took another train, up and up a hill.
I saw the Alps and really lovely clouds.
I viewed old ruins and chilled in the park.
It's been a nice day.

Also, I was serenaded by a blackbird, a crow, and the trickle of a water fountain.

The last day of the holiday on the move (I have a few days at home to start recovering). Three trains and two countries again.

A bit of a delay but nothing bad. The onwards connection won't need to be rushed or missed.
