Infuriating. As much as I love my students and think they have tremendous opportunities at our law school, they should not apply right now. Don’t come here physically now and put yourself in danger. One of my colleagues has been pushing an online LLM (Master of Laws, a pathway for the foreign trained to practice in the US). I’ve been against it because I think it’s a lesser experience than being in person. Not any more. It’s safer, and that’s more important.
Problem with that being, if it's not safe to study, how would it be safe to practise in the USA?

Sure, but you don’t have to be physically present in the US to practice US law. Many who take this route work for companies doing business in or with the US, but aren’t physically in the US. Having knowledge of US legal systems and processes is valuable (or, better said, has been.)
