JRK: They're doing big picture things that involve short term pain for some, instead of obsessing over local elections that don't matter and that governments always do badly in anyway. DH: How many times have the British people been told that over the last 20 years. And why is it the short term pain is always directed at working people and the poorest. She's literally announced £3.5 billion of cuts in benefits for the disabled and only £1 billion in tax avoidance.

it's not short term pain though, it's perpetual pain until the financial sector decides that they have enough money to let the poor have some as well. Which is anathema to entire being which is to amass all the wealth.

It really hurts when someone like dan Hodges on the sane and sensible and empathy pages; since we are so used to the exact opposite.
