I hate it when I put things away "somewhere more sensible" in the spring then have to pull half the house apart trying to find them again in the autumn.
The ridiculous thing is, I'll almost certainly remember that I couldn't find it when I put it away again next spring, put it somewhere different so I don't have to spend half an hour looking for it, then totes forget and go through the whole process again 🤦♀️
My house is also tiny and with very limited storage, so I've had to get creative and use dead space under various tables and an old rattan washing basket. It did mean I accidentally tidied up a lot of stuff (and found a lot of stuff I forgot I owned) though 😂
Nah, it was in the basket where I usually keep cushions. I'll have to have a look what else is in there that isn't cushions later 😂 Is that tiny by American standards, or European? I'm just glad I've got a shed, some dead space between the back door and the kitchen door which I rather grandly refer to as a "pantry", and a strip of unusable grass for the water/wood/compost/grit/sand etc storage.
Our house is 12.5 feet wide. 🤔 We do have a basement though (also 12.5 feet wide) which is filled with 28 years of stuff for four people. 😆 Of course, I am the librarian for all this stuff—no one else remembers where things are.
Mine's about 16ft x 25ft I think (doing some quick crap maths). The garden is three times that size! Also it's a bungalow, so no handy foutoir (except the shed). That's why there's so much crap under all the tables in the lounge, and why they've all got scarves on them so no one can see it all 😆
Ah, ours is about that footprint, but we do have three floors—but also, four people! (Well, three now, but four people's stuff, since daughter left all her crap here. 😂) Our garden is 12.5 x 30, plus it's shaded, so no real gardening opportunity.
I can tell you where something is that was put away 25 years ago. 😆 And I'm known for saying "Where is X, I put it here in about 2015, and it's gone!" 🤣

We, too, have a tiny, tiny house, with an elaborate (and chaotic) "filing" system for our stuff. 😂
