If their sole job is to sway would-be Reform voters then going fully populist nationalist would be a way as that's catnip for them. Of course, incredibly dangerous given people who can be manipulated by a flag are probably the sort you don't want to be associated with and only mean you fall further right in pursuit of that voter.
It won't though, will it? Labour have already proved that they say one thing and do the opposite, so why would a potential Reform voter choose pretend Reform over actual Reform? It's a lose-lose situation for Labour that there's no way back from.
It's a fruitless chase but then it has been for a while. There's no good in flying rightwards trying to get a voter who'd never vote for you anyway, just leaves your core voter high and dry after you betray them and they may not come back. Centrists being who they are though, they'll always be slightly to the left of wherever the mass appeal is so they've been brought pretty far right by every major party going full authoritarian fash because of one man bought and paid for by Russia to destabilise the UK.
Tbf it wasn't just *one* man though, was it. Large parts of the Tory party were bought and paid for by Russia while Farage was just screaming into the wilderness.
It's never just one I know but for a man who is no politician he did a lot in steering the country without ever taking office. Did it successfully with UKIP and the bag of bollocks that one was by getting us out of the EU and probably will do it again with Reform.
Oh, absolutely. I remember the days of the late 90s and early 00s when talk of leaving the EU was for absolute whackjobs 😔 I've seen plenty of polling (yeah, I know) showing huge gains - from a practically standing start - for Reform across swathes of the Midlands, north, south west and in Wales too, unfortunately.
So this guy sees himself in the mould of the directing mind behind the concentration camps of 1899-1902; who counted victory as the enemy having more corpses than him and of course who recruited children then shot them for cowardice?
