The fossil fuel lobby (and no mistake here: it really is a very powerful and uber well funded lobby) has done a spectacular job of getting their talking points into the mouths of both those who wield power and those who vote for them. Getting folks heads up to understand that this is not future, it is now, it is catastrophic and will result in potentially billions of climate refugees seems virtually impossible - even when they see the stuff on their TVs.
