The latest was £9.5bn for a road from Dartford to London or something. They owe us £4bn for HS2. But all 27 Welsh Labour MPs refused to ask for that back a few weeks ago 🤬
I've been thinking since yesterday that Keith and Lego are doing their own version of "move fast and break things", a la 47. It's the only thing that seems to make sense, particularly when you take on board his blind adherence to 47's foreign policies.
Well you only have to look at how many times the wheels have fallen off his much trumpeted "exemption" from 47's tariffs, only the most recent being car exports yesterday.
I'm listening to a podcast where the Centrist Dad presenters are desperately trying to defend Labour and suggest they are different and they've no choice and jam the day after tomorrow. Just say it - they've been disappointingly shit to date.
I do, but I'm coming close to stopping, as I find myself screaming into the void or just stopping part way through more often. Life's too short! Stopped listening to TRIP - Centrist Dad Central!
I very, very occasionally check their timelines for hints that they might not be total melts but guess what - they are! So fuck those guys. Naomi Smith gave me a teensy tiny bit of hope last week when she got mad about the benefits cuts, but then she went right back to flatly ignoring everything the Labour party does and griping exclusively about the shabby opposition and what's going in the US.
I try to listen to some of these podcasts to get an insight into the thought process and other people's take on things. In this case, I've come to the conclusion that they are happy with the existing system and believe tweaking it here and there is enough. I'm more of a burn it down and start from scratch.
I find it enough to dip into their timelines, as I said, because I can so easily hear their semi-patronising dad voices claiming the people screaming "this is authoritarianism" are melodramatic neophytes who don't see the world as it really is, and should just stop trying to make the world better and be grateful the Tories are gone. Basically, they've got the access now, and they think everything's going to be alright eventually. Cunts.
I say this, not (entirely) out of spite but because I see so many centrists crying "this isn't the Labour party we voted for, what are they doing?", when literally tens of thousands of people were shouting at them to tell them exactly that and got slagged off as being naive Tory enablers.
