Nearly three weeks with no coffee or chocolate and all I want this afternoon is a massive latte and several bags of Galaxy Counters 😢

chocolate is overrated
Tbh I never really ate a huge amount of it - I prefer cake if it's a matter of choosing between the two.
is this a voluntary lack or forced lack?
It's voluntary but I'd like to keep it up permanently if I can.
I’m really trying not to drink alcohol but I’m tempted this evening.
Yeah, I get the odd twinge for a glass of fizz but the last couple of times I gave in to it I didn't really enjoy it that much. I'll keep up the not drinking until Christmas, and after that I might give it up altogether. I doubt very much I'd be able to do that with chocolate or coffee though.
I find it much easier to give up alcohol than Coca Cola 🙈
Hehehe ... I can count the number of times I've had coke in the last ten years on the fingers of my hands but everyone's got their weaknesses and I most *definitely* can't throw stones 😁
It’s very much my Achilles heel
are you intending to keep this up until Christmas?
Yeah, if I can. The chocolate in particular, as I've already ordered a load in my Xmas shop 😂
I'm not drinking until then either, but that's pretty easy to keep up. I might give it up altogether in the new year.
impressive! I could probably give up chocolate (I won’t) but I wouldn’t like to give up alcohol I’m ashamed to say. I often do dry January but not sure about this one!
I've never really drunk regularly since I moved to Wales so it's not much of an effort to go without. Coffee has been easier than I thought, and the two - coffee and chocolate - kinda go together in my head, so if I have one, I'll doubtless buckle on both!
In general I'm not one for "giving up things when I don't really want to because it's January" or whatever. I know what I'm like - I'd fuck it off within minutes out of pure contrariness 😂
the husband usually does dry January and February as a detox. I don’t have such strong willpower.
Nah, me neither. Tbh I'm stunned I've lasted this long without coffee!
I had to give up alcohol about 8 years ago. I was having extreme hypersensitive reactions to it.

I very quickly didn't miss it but once in a while relaxing with a nice whiskey sounds like a very good idea.

I can go without chocolate, not my favourite thing, but giving up Haribo was harder. Been a most of this year so far.

I only have one coffee a day, and I suppose I could give that up if I had a reason to.
Yeah, I don't miss it either, and I find I don't enjoy it as much as the idea of it when I do drink.
Oh, well done on the Haribo! Not sure I could do that, although I've cut down radically. Might try to cut it back even more next year.
Yes, often the idea is more tempting than the thing itself.

I have also given up Morrisons Free From bakewell tarts, mainly because they seem to have stopped stocking them locally.
Oh good grief Mia, I would be mugging people in the streets for their last Rolo!
I've still had biscuits and cake Tim, I'm not a monster 😂
Buttttt … what are you dunking your biscuits in ???
WTF Tim, I don't dip biscuits into coffee!!
Unfollowed.

😁
😆

No you’re right, a nice hot mug of tea is the appropriate beverage for proper dunking (but I have been known to be heretical & dunk into coffee too! )

Have an excellent afternoon lovely 😊🫶🐿️🖖
Tbf I've dipped the odd square of 85% cocoa into an espresso in my time 😄
Are you all out of stew? I'm feeling too cold and lazy to cook something proper, so it was poached eggs and baked beans on toast for lunch.
Have a lovely afternoon yourself 😊 💗
We have some of the original stew frozen for one more meal later this week.

Enjoy your lunch. 😊
