I had to add some to my grocery order. It’s been a chocolate week.
Mine's supposed to be for Christmas. Somehow I think I'm going to have to order another panettone before then. I've seen an expensive yet delicious-looking one in Tesco.
if you want expensive but delicious, Waitrose Basque cheesecake.....
Bugger. Now I've got to set up a Waitrose account 🙄 😁
apart from them being a pain about catfood (rarely having what my two like to eat) Waitrose are good online shop.
Order placed! Got myself one of these - now I can eat the panettone that's arriving later tonight 😂

ooh if I got one of those I’d have it all to myself as the husband doesn’t do limoncello.
There's a branch in Abergavenny if you're feeling motivated 😂
I like Abergavenny, but then I lived in Hereford for a while so know the region quite well.
I love Abergavenny. Superior quality charity shops, some nice cafes and only a short (by Welsh standards) bus ride to Hereford. It's only 8 miles from here but takes about 3 hours by bus 🙄
The market's not as good as it used to be though.
Mum took me to Abergavenny once, on the 'shoppers bus' from Swansea - on market day, and I'm still wearing the summer jacket I bought there, well over 10 years ago! We only did most of the main street, Mum had a sit-down while I whizzed along to & round the castle. But there were a couple of good cafes.
I think I need to visit Abergavenny proper another time and not just stock up on treats at Waitrose!
Just seen the woodpecker at the feeding station 🥳
Of course as soon as I'd moved away from the open window because I was freezing, 'e rocked up to guzzle the mealworms 🙄
Aber's great for a mellow mooch about and some lunch. Obvs there's loads of cultcha stuff to look at too.
tricksy birbs.
My house isn't on the same level as the garden, and the windows are daftly high up. Even if I could pull of the necessary acrobatics to get the birdfeeder into a shot from the (very dirty) kitchen window, it'd be even shitter than usual.
Stupid windows. Stupid house.
is your garden up or down?
The house is about 18 inches higher up than the garden. Also I had to place the feeding station in a strategic location to protect it from the violent crosswinds, which makes it even more difficult to photograph from indoors. I didn't want to see it flying past the bedroom window during the winter storms 😂
you need a bird cam!
Oooh, maybe! The neighbour with All The Tools has cameras all over his garden, I might barter some wood to get him to install it for me 😁
*checks ebay for birdcams*
sounds like a plan, or my friend here @withaveeay has one for his bird feeder that keeps catching Pine Martens and can maybe advise.
I remember seeing someone on here who rigged up an old phone to act as a cam but that sounds too challenging for me.
Any advice welcome 😊
Or I might just start putting bird food on the shed roof, which is much easier to see from the bedroom window.
and of course just up the Wye is Hay on Wye, not safe for bibliophiles.
Don't. I went last year. It did some serious damage to my bank account.
we can’t get Waitrose deliveries here 😭
Tbh I was surprised that I could get it here!
"we can’t get Waitrose deliveries here"

I thought Wales was all posh now????

😀

@Thebratdragon @fkamiah17
I used to hate Asda but they do the most reliable grocery delivery here. Waitrose is now a treat when I’m driving in and out of Wales.
For us it's the Co - which I like on principle, but not so much in practice coz so much of the food isn't actually food, just packaged chemicals; And then Waitrose - which is OK.

Please farm shops which we use a lot for veggies. It's all importanted though which is rubbish. We grow cauliflowers here which get sent to the UK to be wrapped in plastic, before being sent back to be sold to us on the island.

What's that about???

@Thebratdragon @fkamiah17
I only Waitrose now and then, but it is a treat when I do.
it’s better as a treat actually.
Yeah, I only Ocado (and now Waitrose) every so often. It's the only place to get gazpacho.
Oh don't - I get accused almost daily by the family of being the most middle class person on the planet...

@helenclayton @Thebratdragon
you reminded me that I meant to share this last week.

Where's the Tesco Inauthentic Panettone, that's what I need to know!
A photograph of a product on sale in Tesco. It shows a box with the writing on it "Tesco Finest sweet & buttery Authentic Panettone" with a photograph of panettone, a sweet bread filled raisins and peel probably from Italy, next to the writing. It is unlikely the panettone is authentic.
This counts as inauthentic I think, but it's the one that I want 😪

they also do "tiramisu-style panettone" which sounds highly inauthentic! So much so that I can't even imagine what it is.
I remember this causing a bit of a stir on here a couple of weeks ago - was it you who started it? I've abandoned Tesco for Waitrose's Limoncello Fizz one instead.
You have a date booked with a chocolate!! I’m jealous! 😆
Allegedly for Christmas but that's not happening 😂
Yeah chocolate wouldn’t last long here either! 😆

Enjoy!
