Anyone found any reporting in the western media of the massive nationwide protests against Erdogan in Turkiye last night? 🧐

#Turkiye #Resist
the BBC covered the protests briefly in an article about the arrest.
Ah, ok. I don't read BBC News any more, I suppose that's why I missed it. Did they get the scale of it though, or was it just Ankara and Istanbul they mentioned?
Sorry for the interrogation, I just don't necessarily trust them to be accurate about protests these days.
they certainly didn't give me the impression that it was country-wide.
Here's links to the pics of the two other ones I could find before the internet shut down.

Capital Economics said Imamoglu’s arrest raised concerns about “the broader reform agenda” and suggested that “political rather than economic concerns may be starting to dominate President Erdogan’s thinking”.

Galip Dalay at Chatham House said Imamoglu’s arrest could also dent Ankara’s hopes of using strengthened defence and security ties with Europe to develop a broader relationship with the continent. “The mayor of Istanbul is the second-most important elected post in the country after the president,” said Dalay. “The trouble is what we see now is going to poison the relationship.”

Thanks. Just the Istanbul one though. Does the video show the scale of the demo? The still I can see from your screenshot doesn't seem to.
It sort of shows the scale but it is just from central Istanbul.

I’ve “gifted” the article, so you should be able to view the video 3 times and the link is valid for 90 days.
Thanks Jayne - I can just put it through archive and see it anyway though 😉 😘
It's front page with videos on the German Tagesschau.
