Badenoch is apparently trying to appoint only people who are less competent than she is - but this is clearly a tall order...
Oh, I don't know, I'd have thought she'd have a surfeit of candidates if that was the only metric. Saying that, a lot of the *really* stupid ones got ditched at the election, so perhaps you're right.
Problem is, by definition, anyone she appoints is going to be a fuck sake Tory.
Bottom has fallen off the barrel, I see.
Nah, they dug through the bottom years ago and it turns out there are barrels all the way down.
On the up side, they are sounding more insane than ever... so that's going to take a lot of billionaire media to get folks to look the other way. "The reaction to partygate was overblown" was one of the most tone deaf things a politician has said since 'peace in our time'.

Aye, but if "Labour" keep going the way they are, the Tory voters who were sick of them will revert to type because "maybe they weren't that bad after all". Even I think that occasionally, but only for a microsecond.
Yes... it's shocking isn't it? Not sure I can get to 'they weren't that bad' but definitely 'were they worse?'

The arrest of the Holocaust expert, Jewish lecturer from UEL - on terrorism charges (eventually: they droppred the original hate speech) - was my latest foray into 'just how bad are Labour?'

It seems: quite bad indeed.
Yeah, that's probably a better way of framing it. I honestly don't think they *were* that much worse, apart from the grifting, which Liebour seem to be going all out to keep up with, if not better.
Exceedingly tired of it all. I've not been looking at the news very much lately, which has been very restful, and when I do it's all so entirely predictable I feel vindicated.
That arrest was unforgiveable but just the latest in a crackdown on pro-Palestine speech and reporting.
Avoiding the news is such a good plan - good for you. I sit at a desk getting pretty bored much of the day so it's a distraction. But it's an unhealthy one I know.
It does get easier, even if you're bored at your desk. Play solitaire, post some nonsense on here (which always gets more replies than serious stuff, in my experience!), do a bit of meditation. You'll sleep better and be a *lot* less stressed when you don't know every last minute of what's happening.
"which always gets more replies than serious stuff, in my experience!"

You're absolutely right! This is too often my place for ranting - into the abyss - which is also a bit not very good for mental health.

I look on in awe with those who can do the nonsense posting - I just don't have that brain. And for sure, less detail would be really a good idea. Maybe I should keep a bottle of malt by my desk and have a nip every time I read any kind of news... might be messy.

Seriously, I'm still having conversations about soup and disappearing washing up liquid from about 2 hours ago. There's no art to it - just any old shite will do 😂
Stating the obvious, the need to rant about the news decreases with the amount of news you watch. More time for nonsense!
It's going to be a challenge today, eh?
Nope, it's going to be easier today. I've already had the worst news. I'm switching off until tomorrow.
