We’ve just got this which while tasteful, I think is both not intimidating enough and also like we are specifically not interested in visits from sex workers.
A doorbell with a brass plate with fall leaves, a sun, a flower, and a snowflake. This is new to me. It used to have dragonflies on it. Spouse is always changing hardware and seeing how long it takes me to notice. There is a bonus partial reflection of me in the button. Below is a small brass sign that says No Soliciting.

Afaik, not a common issue (unsolicited solicitation) in my neighborhood either. Aren’t there apps for that these days?

We have a large “no soliciting” decal on the glass of our front door, not far from the doorbell. It seems to work about 95% of the time. It is my guess the other 5% are seriously unobservant or don’t know what soliciting means, probably the latter.

Godders are too thick-skinned to take the hint in my experience, and they are my primary target.

for a long time, the breaker of our doorbell was turned off. Also very effective. Can recommend!
