Those fediverse daily reports keep coming out showing more dead servers than new, which may not actually relate to the number of active people, but it seems to.

Misuse and abuse of servers by "owners"/dictators, limiting text to 500, commercial trolls flooding everything ... at some point interest would be lost, while the expected explosion of influx from commercial media never happened.
