It looks like the over-55s have got a drink problem

many, it seems, who's started drinking more alcohol (at home) during lockdown have been unable to scale back & as a result liver disease diagnosis has risen swiftly in that age group; at the very same time that under 35s are adopting a no-drinking lifestyle.

The drinks sector is profiting from a product that causes illness, while to some extent (drink is quite highly taxed) passing the cost onto taxpayers.

About fucking time! If you think #smoking is a health menace worse than alcohol, let me put it this way... Not JUST from a biological perspective;I'm Alcohol KILLS HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS ON THE HIGHWAYS EVERY YEAR, ALONE. Usually it's not not the drunk that gets killed either. This is also not counting destroyed families and other sociological, medical causes.
