Well, turns out I did get a shot or two worth posting.

The bolts are hitting the Growler Mountains in Cabeza Prieta NWR. I was to the east, on a hill in Organ Pipe National Monument.

I'll post the others pics on my blog with a short story about the evening later.

There has been a storm since early today (it is now 9:14 am). I was telling my wife that I am not afraid of thunder and at that very moment a tremendous bolt of lightning fell near my house and my body jumped automatically several centimeters from the chair where I was sitting. The scare of the dog and one of my cats, as well as that of my wife and myself, were epic. Then I imagined a huge cloud laughing at me with loud laughter.
